Application Procedure for the Graduate Programs at Cyber Security department of Informatics Institute

Cyber Security department  admits the applicants satisfying the following precondition:

. Applicants holding (or who will have held before the start of the applied academic term) a bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) may apply to a Master’s program.

The application form for admission and all supporting documents must be submitted to the Informatics Institute completely before the due date in person or via mail. The applications will be evaluated by the Departments after examination of the related documents.Incomplete/late applications or applications that do not meet the program requirements will not be taken into consideration.

Applicants should take the METU Proficiency ODTÜ İYS (English Qualification Exam), IELTS or TOEFL and ALES (Graduate Exam) exams before the application date.  Foreign students should take English exam (IELTS, TOEFL, or METU Proficiency) and GRE (or GMAT) according to the departments' requirements. You can access  the page that includes application criteria  by clicking here.

Important note 1: GRE exam score is not accepted for Turkish students.

Important note 2: These minimum scores (especially ALES/GRE score) do not guarantee acceptance.

Required Documents for Application:

1. Printout of instructions for on-line application.
2. Letter of intent.
3. CV/Portfolio.
4. Transcript(s) (notarized or attested).
5. Your GRE/ALES score report.
6. METU Proficiency/TOEFL/IELTS score report.
7. Two letters of recommendation.
8. Copy of identity card or passport for international applicants.
9. Receipt for application fee, if applicable.

Letters of intent/CV/Portfolio

In the letter of intent explain your objectives and goals with respect to the graduate study, research field(s) of interest, and your relevant background. The applicant may either fill out the letter of intent  in the relevant section of the application form, or submit it separately. In this case, the applicant must state in the relevant section of the application form that the letter of intent is attached.

Also submit your  curriculum vitae or portfolio, indicating  your work experience(s), honor(s), scholarship(s), certifications, publications, conference articles, blogs, etc., if any. The applicant must submit the CV/portfolio separately.
